What is the United Way?
The United Way of Southeast Arkansas is a local organization that is run by local volunteers serving the needs of local people. The volunteers in charge are trustworthy, professional people and well-known in Southeast Arkansas. Under their control the United Way is dependable and reliable.
The United Way continues to be the health and human services fund-raising leader in Southeast Arkansas and has been since 1947. United Way raises funds through a single community-wide campaign to help meet local health and human service needs.
What is the Campaign Goal?
The Campaign Goal is: "For every person to have the right kind of opportunity to understand and decide"
The Dollar Target is: $1,250,000
Where does my donation go?
Your gift goes to help hurting individuals and families in your community. 99¢ of each dollar raised stays right here in Southeast Arkansas.
Who decides which agencies receive funds?
Allocations volunteers from local companies and organizations visit partner agencies and then review agency budgets to make informed decisions as to how funds are allocated.
About how many people does my donation help?
Your donation to the United Way and the 26 Partner Agencies helps over 30,000 people each year.
How can I help?
By Living United; give, advocate, volunteer. You are encouraged to join this worthwhile effort by giving your time, efforts and money, advocating for those who can't speak for themselves, and volunteering your talents to the United Way and its 27 partner agencies to help strengthen our community.
Who directs the United Way?
United Way policies and direction are set by an all volunteer Board of Directors. A staff of 5 supports the board in administrative and clerical duties.
What types of services are supported by the United Way?
A very wide variety of services are provided by the United Way partner agencies. Please refer to the Partner Agency page for information regarding each agency and the services they provide.
Who supports the United Way?
United Way is supported by a very large number of companies and countless employees. Approximately 70% of the amount raised is given by individuals who make a payroll deduction pledge where they work. The other 30% is from companies, foundations and retirees.
